This 280 SE was asked to act as the ‘Sweep Car’ during the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival in September 2021. Sweep Car duties included following behind each tour group during their ‘laps of the old course’ – through the town of Watkins Glen, NY and around the surrounding countryside. One lap is approximately 6 miles, 2 laps per group, 8 different groups. We practically drove the wheels off this 280 SE, up hills down hills, across winding and straight stretches, all over the place. Trying to keep up with Ferraris and Corvettes, even vintage Ford GT 40s and Jaguar E Types. This car runs flawlessly and is ready to drive right now.
